Antarctica Fly & Cruise
Air charter and luxury small cruise expedition to the Antarctic Peninsula
LUXURY FLY & CRUISE EXPEDITION ANTARCTICA
Maximize your time exploring the mainland during an Antarctica luxury fly and cruise expedition. You will fly between Punta Arenas, located in Chilean Patagonia, and the South Shetland Islands, located in Antarctica, on a chartered aircraft. Flying allows you to avoid at-sea days in the choppy waters of the Drake Passage so that you can spend more time in Antarctica. After your flight (approx. 2 hours) lands on King George Island, you will board the Magellan Explorer, a luxurious boutique ship, and set sail for the Antarctic Peninsula, located on the continent’s mainland. There, you will spend the following days exploring the icy expanse of one of the planet’s last remaining frontiers. Explore the inlets and bays of the majestic shoreline with zodiac excursions, and land on the continent itself for trekking and wildlife spotting. Your luxury fly and sail expedition to the Antarctic Peninsula aboard the Magellan Explorer comes to a close when you return to the South Shetland Islands and fly back to Punta Arenas, where you will spend a final night before your departing flight.

Punta Arenas (1 night)
A domestic flight from Santiago takes you to Punta Arenas, located in Chilean Patagonia. Upon your arrival, head to your hotel by private transfer. There, spend the afternoon relaxing at your leisure before attending a mandatory briefing that will provide you with important information for the upcoming expedition to Antarctica.
Cruise around Antarctica (5 nights)
From Punta Arenas, a two-hour flight takes you to King George Island, the most populated island in the South Shetland Islands. Upon your arrival in Antarctica, pass by several active research stations as you head to the shoreline, where a quick Zodiac ride transfers you to your ship, the Magellan Explorer. The vessel, constructed in 2019, offers an intimate experience with a capacity of 73 guests in 39 cabins, many of which feature balconies. Rest and relax between excursions in thoughtfully designed common areas such as a glass-enclosed observatory, library, and forward-facing outdoor observation deck. You will also enjoy amenities such as the gym, sauna, and bar areas. Additionally, while aboard, you will have access to lectures and presentations by experts in the region. This rich educational program will allow you to fully appreciate and understand your spectacular surroundings as you discover one of the world’s least-visited regions.
From the Shetland Islands, set sail south toward the mainland’s Antarctic Peninsula, where you will have the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to spend four days exploring the continent of Antarctica. The Captain will determine your exact itinerary based on current conditions and wildlife movements. Each day will bring a new adventure with Zodiac excursions, guided hikes, wildlife spotting, and more. Marvel at the stark expanse of the Antarctic landscape – the towering icebergs of the Penola Strait that dwarf your ship, the jugged rock formations of the Gerlache Strait that break through the white – and enjoy close encounters with wildlife such as whales, seals, penguins, and more.
Punta Arenas (1 night)
On the sixth day of your cruise, you will return to the South Shetland Islands to fly back to Punta Arenas on a chartered flight. The following day, a private transfer takes you to the airport in Punta Arenas for your departing flight.
